Valdez

We took a road trip to Valdez in August to visit Brian, Staci and family. To date it is the longest road trip we have taken the kids on (~6 hours one way). They did great! It poured in Valdez the whole time we were there, but we had a blast! Mike and Tyler went out on the boat with Brian, Kailyn, Peggy and Tom. They set the shrimp pots and did a little fishing. Brian even got Tyler to kiss the bait fish for good luck - too funny!

While we were there we were able to attend Kailyn and Charlie's birthday parties. Kailyn had an adorable tea party at a bakery and all the little girls were dressed up as princesses. Tyler was one of the only boys there, but he did not mind at all. Charlie had a great BBQ birthday party at home. He was so cute - he refused to eat his birthday cake. Staci even tried to bury some blueberries in it to get him interested in it. He picked the blueberries out and totally avoided the cake!

Tyler was so sad to leave Valdez. We were halfway home and Tyler asked us if we could tie a rope to Kailyn's house and pull it back to Anchorage with us. He wanted to move our neighbor's house and put Kailyn's right next to us. He doesn't understand why we have to live so far away - just broke my heart!

We had such a great time in Valdez and can't wait to make another trip this year!
