Soccer

My little man played soccer again this summer. It took a couple weeks for him to warm up to it, but he really enjoyed playing. Last year we had him in Alaska Rush soccer which focused more on handling the ball and not so much on the game. This year we moved him to YMCA soccer which was 1/2 an hour of practicing and 1/2 an hour of game. Tyler was not used to actually playing the game and having agressive players take the ball from him. Towards the last half of the six week session, he started to get more agressive and scored a couple of goals. Mike laughed at me, but I cried EVERY time he scored a goal! Oh, it is going to be so hard to watch my babies grow up!

Check out that foot action!

 Run Tyler, run!

Score!

Look at that face! He was so proud (me too!)

Tyler appointed himself referee's helper. Got the ball out of the net EVERY TIME!

One of his favorite things to do - hang out on the sideline!

This is sooooo cute. I think Mike and I are going to put Lyla in soccer this year... did you like YMCA?

I really liked YMCA. The coaches are volunteers and I have heard there are some that are not that great. Ours did not know much about soccer but she had a parent help her that did and it turned out great. The only thing I did not like was that it was 2 nights a week - it was a little overwhelming for me! One night a week is easier to manage :) We are planning to sign up again this year. I will let you know when registration opens - it fills up really quick!
