Alayna - 15 months and counting

Wow - It is hard to believe my baby is 15 months old already! It seems like just yesterday we were celebrating her first birthday. She is changing so quickly and is learning new things every day. Here is a peek at what she is up to:

Likes

Baby dolls - Carrying them, hugging them, kissing them, throwing them.
Shoes - She has quite the obsession. I am thinking she will make a great teenager!
Purses - Loves carrying them around. Like I said, she is going to make a great teenager.
Peek-a-boo - Loves to hide around corners and run out laughing.
Books - Empties the book case frequently and carries her books around the house.

Dislikes

Sharing - Toys, food - you name it, she does not want to share it.
Waiting - She knows what she wants, when she wants and she lets everyone know!
Baths - She used to love them - what happened?!!
Kisses - She will let us kiss her (most of the time), but she does not give out kisses freely (unless it is to her baby dolls!).

What else?

Alayna has gotten pretty good at walking and has started to pick up some speed. She is really good about standing back up when she falls (or is pushed down by her oh-so-loving brother!). She is starting to fuss whenever she sees Tyler with one of her toys even if she was not playing with it. She also gets mad if she sees Tyler eating or drinking something she does not have. Tyler seems to enjoy all of this and has even started to purposely antagonize her. I didn't realize sibling rivalry started so young!

Alayna is talking up a storm these days, but we can't understand most of it. She just jabbers away in her own little language. She will mimic a lot of the things we say, but there are only a few words she consistently says - Momma and Dadda, Hi-da (hi dad), dat (that), Me-me (milk, more). I have heard her say dog and Ty a few times too. She also uses sign language a bit. Her favorite one is the sign for hungry (not surprising since she loves to eat!) and every once in a while she will sign for milk as well. We tried to teach her the sign for "all done" so we would know when she was done eating. That one has not taken - she prefers to throw all her food on the floor when she is done instead (much more obvious than sign language, right?!!).
